Unser Aufenthalt in Hannover war mehr als angenehm. Der Flughafen ist bei weitem nicht so quirrlig als Hamburg und das Maritim liegt direkt auf der anderen Straßenseite. Der Gang vom Hotel zum Flughafengebäude ist überdacht, was will man mehr?
Als wir am 12.6. im Maritim ankamen, sahen wir, dass einige Festzelte auf der Wiese davor aufgebaut waren. „Dort essen wir eine Grillierst“, entschied Tina. Allerdings war dies eine geschlossene Gesellschaft, in die wir uns einschmuggeln konnten. Die Bratwurst war lecker und mein Steak ganz besonders. Auch Bier und Sekt waren nicht zu verachten. Und das ganze „für umme“. Na, da will man ja nicht meckern.
Danach besuchten wir Sauna und Pool und begaben uns dann zu einem sehr leckeren Abendessen. Anders als geplant, ging es dann ins Bett. Ich schaute mir noch die erste Halbzeit des Spiels Deutschland - Ukraine an, Tina nur die erste Hälfte davon. Dann schliefen wir ein.
Am nächsten Morgen frühstückten wir nach einem erneuten Besuch von Sauna und Pool und machten uns dann auf zum Flughafen. Dort verlief alles völlig entspannt und auch der Flug war völlig unspekakulär.
Um 18:30 landeten wir leicht verspätet und wurden schon vom Fahrer des Hotels erwartet. Mit Visa, Zoll und Gepäck klappte alles wie am Schnürchen und kurz um 19:30 Uhr waren wir schon im Hotel, wo wir mit großem Hallo begrüßt wurden. Allerdings sind viele uns vertraute Gesichter nicht mehr da.
Der heutige Tag diente der Eingewöhnung, insbesondere an die Temperaturen, die zur Zeit über 40°C betragen. Das Wasser des Roten Meeres ist mit 28°C auch sehr angenehm…

Our stay in Hannover was better than convenient. The airport is much less busy than Hamburg and the hotel Maritim is located just on the other side of the road. The way from the hotel to the airport has a roof, what to desire more?
When arriving at the Maritim on 6/12 we saw some pavillions in the garden in front of the hotel. „We’ll have a grilled sausage there“, Tina decided. But it was a closed community, but they allowed us to enter. The sausages were great and my steak even better. And nothing to pay!
We went to the sauna and the pool and after that we had a delicious dinner. Different as planned we just went to bed. I watched the first half of the European soccer game between Germany and Ukraine, Tina only the first half of that. Next was a deep sleep up to the morning.
Next morning we visited sauna and pool again and after that we had a delicious breakfast. After that we went to the airport. Everything went well and also the flight was not spectacular.
At 6:30 pm we arrived a little bit delayed in Hurghada and the driver from the hotel was already waiting for us. Visa, customs and baggage pick up went as best as possible and already at 7:30 pm we arrived at the hotel where we received a lot of „Hellos“ and „Welcome back“. But some of the wellknown faces from the past left in the meantime.
Main task of today was to get familiar - especially with the temperature, which is > 105°F. The water of the Red Sea is > 82°F.
This evening we have already booked for dinner in our most loved restaurant „Alexanders“. More about tomorrow.
Nachbemerkung / Follow Up
Bevor wir gestern Abend zum Dinner gingen, schleifte mich Tina noch zum Arzt. Ich erklärte ihm meine Probleme und er untersuchte intensiv meinen Fuß und den Rücken. Ich bekam zwei Spritzen, Voltaren für den Fuß und eine elastische Binde für ihn. Die nächsten Tage werde ich die Spritzen weiter bekommen.
Danach ging es dann zum Dinner. Wir haben uns sehr gefreut, dass unser Tisch besonders geschmückt war. Natürlich war das Essen selbst wieder absolute Spitze. Danach ging es auf einen letzten Schluck zurück an die Bar. Ach ja, zwei Handtaschen mussten es für Tina dann auch noch sein.
Prior heading for dinner, Tina forced me to visit the doctor. I explained my problems to him and he examined carefully my foot and my back. I got two injections, Voltaren for the foot and a bandage for it. During the next days I’ll receive additional injections.
After that we went for the dinner. We were excited that our table had a special decoration. The dinner itself was delicious. After that we went back for a last drink to the bar. Oh, well, two nwe handbags for Tina have been a „must buy“…
